Valid ID

Any documents must be present during the signing. The only way to have your signature notarized is by meeting face-to-face. If you are signing a document requiring multiple people's signatures, they will all need to come with you to ensure that their signatures are notarized.

It is important to have a valid form of identification that includes a photo, your legal name, and a signature. The most common forms of ID include a state-issued driver's license or identification card, a U.S. passport, or a U.S. military ID.

Generally speaking, a notary cannot notarize your signature over a video or phone call, however, a few states do allow you to have documents notarized through secure notary sites, but this is limited.
